ChickPeas Curry

Ingredients

  • Chickpeas- 1 can (260 g) water strained, boiled and strained again.
  • Ginger- 1″ finely chopped
  • Red onion- 1 medium finely sliced
  • Green chilly- 1 slit
  • Tomato- 1 big chopped
  • Curry leaves- 10-15
  • Eastern Mustard seeds- 3/4- 1tsp
  • Eastern Kashmiri chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Eastern Coriander powder – 2tsps
  • Eastern Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
  • Sunflower oil- 2 tsp
  • Cilantro/coriander leaves- little 🍲

Steps

  1. In hot oil, add mustard seeds.
  2. Once it’s popped, add onion, green chilly,and ginger. Sauté.
  3. In the mean while mix the all the spices (powder) together in little bit of water.
  4. Add this to the sautéed onion. Let it cook in low heat until the raw smell is gone.
  5. Now, add tomatoes and curry leaves.
  6. Cook until it’s blended really.
  7. Once it’s blended well add the strained chick peas along with some water and coriander
  8. leaves.
  9. It won’t take that long as the chick peas is already cooked.

Tips

Please note that as we using only little oil, it will take a while.
